Pseudo Freedom for Felines & A Little Bit of Scrappy

Life seems to have taken over lately in one way or another and there hasn't been much going on here of a scrappy nature!  I think that tends to happen to many of us once the good weather arrives and we want to spend as much time as we can enjoying these precious months before the cold weather sets in again.

Our two cats have always enjoyed the freedom of roaming our property and lazing around in a sunny patch, but since moving to this condo complex all of that has changed for them.  We are not allowed to let them wander loose.  Tabby seems to miss this the most and spends a lot of time sitting by the living room window gazing outside.  We decided to get her a collar and leash so we could at least escort her to the backyard for some fresh air.

Chris took her out for her first taste of the outdoors in many months.  We learned pretty quickly that a cat won't come when you tug on the leash the way a dog will - they tend to just put on the brakes and refuse to budge an inch!

You can hardly even tell that she's attached to a leash in this next photo!  I wonder how she felt about it?  LOL  After about ten minutes she lead Chris back indoors and immediately ran and hid under my bed.  I haven't seen her since.  Cats, such funny creatures.

On a bit of a scrappy note, Jen and I got together yesterday to make some cards for charity.  We didn't accomplish as much as I thought we would but that's probably due to the fact that we went out for lunch with Robert plus stopped off at Michael's before heading back home.  (We found sock wool on sale at an amazing price and plan on trying to knit socks this fall.  That'll be an adventure in itself for sure!)

These cards were a lot of fun to make using the Cricut to cut out the flowers and leaves.  It was a great way to use up a good quantity of paper scraps.

Next week we'll be spending our crafty day making a variety of handmade scrapbooking embellishments.  We plan on putting aside a couple of each thing we make to do giveaways on our blogs so be watching for that next week so you can enter for a chance to win.

Until next time...
Susan :-)

  1. Here's to Tabby's taste of freedom!! No worries, Lady won't budge an inch and puts on the brakes when I tug on her leash too!! ;) Maybe she is funny looking because she is part cat?? Looking forward to our embellishment day!! :)

  2. Your cat is gorgeous!!!! He looks so cute on a leash! Love your cards, they will love them too.

  3. LOL Poor kitty! I love the cards - mass producing from scraps is such a brilliant idea! I think I'm going to have to follow suit...

  4. Ah, poor cat. She must wonder why she can't chase the birds and insects any more. She looks cute on the leash though!

Great way of using up scraps on all those cards - they look really pretty! x

P.S. have you seen my giveaway?:
